About the Author

I grew up loving books, thanks in large part to my mom. She loved to read and read to me every night, always made sure I had books of my own, and encouraged my love of the library. I discovered early on that opening a book meant I could escape into another world and have an adventure anytime I wanted. That feeling—the excitement of wondering where a story might take me—has stayed with me throughout my life.

I've always had a special place in my heart for children—their innocence, their honesty, their curiosity, and the wonderful way they find so much joy in the simplest things. Childhood passes far too quickly, and I believe that innocence is something to cherish and preserve for as long as we can. Children remind me that happiness doesn't always come from the big things. Sometimes it's a ladybug landing nearby, dressing up for Halloween, accomplishing something for the very first time, or simply being told, "You can do this."

That is the spirit I want to bring to the books I write. I want to create stories that make children laugh, imagine, wonder, and feel. I also hope my stories can help children understand emotions they may already be experiencing but don't yet have the words to explain. Whether a story takes them on a magical adventure, helps them through a new milestone, encourages them to believe in themselves, or simply makes them smile, I hope each book leaves them with something positive. And perhaps my greatest hope is that when the last page is turned, a child will look up and say, "Can we read it again?"
